JACOB RIVERA-SANCHEZ is based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. He is an Actors' Equity Membership Candidate and, by day, serves as the Business Manager for Texas Wesleyan University's Theatre Department, where he works, according to Dolly Parton's tuneful suggestion, from "9 to 5." He totally knows how to do things. He's also a full-time musical theatre enthusiast who, since 2014, is noted as ShowTickets.com's Ultimate Broadway Fan (formerly NewYork.com). Seriously... it was a thing!
He is a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University, thanks to a full-ride scholarship from the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre - Performance & Directing with multiple honors including Magna Cum Laude and Mr. Texas Wesleyan.
In 2016, he was named 1st Runner-Up in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival's Musical Theatre Initiative finals. Upon this announcement, he was accepted to the Open Jar Institute in New York where he studied musical theatre performance under the direction of Jeff Whiting and James Gray.
In 2018, he was named a recipient of the Bill Garber Young Theatre Artist Award by the Live Theatre League of Tarrant County.
Jacob has additional aspirations in theatrical marketing, directing, arts administration, and journalism. His hobbies include lettering, drawing, reading, staying up-to-date with the New York theatre scene, and collecting cast albums and scripts.
